The Green Scissor brand Ethyl Alcohol 200 PROOF is pure, grain derived ethanol that has no denaturants added. The Green Scissor Ethyl Alcohol is distilled from corn/maize that is grown and processed in North America. The ethanol is obtained exclusively by physical, microbiological or enzymatic processes and the distillation process does not involve benzene. Additionally, The Green Scissor Ethyl Alcohol does not contain any wheat proteins. This is a high purity product that qualifies for beverage, pharmaceutical, food and other markets.

The Green Scissor Ethyl Alcohol is ACS/USP-NF/FCC grade and is ‘absolute and anhydrous’. Absolute or anhydrous alcohol refers to ethanol with a low water content. Anhydrous grade solvents show extremely low percentage water and low residue levels.

Ethanol, a primary alcohol, is an important raw material for the synthesis of various compounds. As a medicinal extraction solvent, ethanol is used to dissolve many water-insoluble medications and related compounds.

Additionally, ethanol has antiseptic properties and is used in medical wipes, antibacterial hand sanitizer gels and cleaners. Ethanol kills organisms by denaturing their proteins and dissolving their lipids and is effective against most bacteria and fungi, and many viruses. However, ethanol is ineffective against bacterial spores.
